Add either Department/Manager fields to user profiles or add user defined fields

It would be very helpful if some fields could be added to user profiles for information like department and manager, or maybe user defined fields for this type of information. As it is we can't produce reports that can be distributed to managers for review of user access without maintaining a separate user created file. This leads to errors when people create or update profiles without the accompanying information about who they report to. This also limits using reports provided by purchased products, where if the information were in the user profile, I would expect the product to allow producing reports that are based on these fields.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.

Suggested work-arounds from previous RFE requests for this support:
    - Create wrapper/duplicate commands for CRTUSRPRF, CHGUSRPRF, DSPUSRPRF, and RTVUSRPRF. The wrappers can implement the addition
of the desired fields using a separate DB2 table.
    - Use the QSYUSRIN service program APIs to store and retrieve user level information for a user profile:
    QsyUpdateUserApplicationInfo
    QsyRemoveUserApplicationInfo
    QsyRetrieveUserApplicationInfo
This interface allows for up to 1700 bytes of information to be stored for a single Application information ID (See API documentation).
Multiple Application information ID entries can be created for a user profile. However, the only interfaces to this data are via the APIs so
you would need to write a "display" interface if this is required.
    - Use WRKDIRE to create directory entries associated with the user profiles.
Directory entries have many of the requested functionality including full user name fields, department information, phone numbers,
mailing address, e-mail address, and more.
Pressing F13 from WRKDIRE allows you to view a list of departments and then view the users in each defined department.
