The OBJECT_STATISTICS UDTF in QSYS2 is getting better all the time. However the *ALLSIMPLE concept that was later added to other UDTFs via their DETAILED_INFO parameter would benefit OBJECT_STATISTICS as well. Originally the Object Name could contains *ALLSIMPLE to produce a list of all objects matching the object type.
However since the addition of Generic name support for the Object Name parameter, we can not now also specify *ALLSIMPLE when a generic name is specified.
OBJECT_STATISTICS('QSYS','*USRPRF','WHS*',DETAILED_INFO=>'*ALLSIMPLE'))
This would give us a list of the User Profiles whose names begin with WHS and avoid generating all the other info we don't want. Today if a generic name is specified, we get everything all the time. :(
Please add a DETAILED_INFO parameter with *ALLSIMPLE (alhtough I would prefer *FULL, *BASIC like I do in SQL TOOLS, as a more memorable option.)

While we agree that adding a new parameter is a reasonable idea, using *ALLSIMPLE and adding the name filtering in the query's WHERE clause can get the result you are looking for. The database team does not plan to invest in a change to OBJECT_STATISTICS at this time.
