In Db2 Web Query SCHEDULER, enhance screen to allow Execution ID to be changed.

Use case for this is DeveloperA makes a report and places on schedule. Later, it is determined that the USER-ID executing the report (i.e DeveloperA) must change. Perhaps, when report and schedule moved from TEST to PROD, or User has moved to new job or left firm. In any case, today you have no way to modify the EXECUTION ID. Should be able to change this field, without rebuilding the entire scheduled item.

    Regardless of it the user who changes the execution ID is an admin, opening up this functionality would force IBM to change Web Query's default security configuration for the whole product, which would be a large effort and open up other security concerns.

    How about if the person making such a change had to be a WQ admin user?

    IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea at this time, so it is being closed. The execution ID is not allowed to be changed due to the security configuration of Web Query. Opening this functionality up would have unintended consequences on the security of the product.

    IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.

    The CAAC has reviewed this Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. The Web Query Scheduler should be enhanced to allow an execution profile similar to native job scheduler and advanced job scheduler.


    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual Ideas on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
