When you are installing a HMC, Power 9 etc, in a non IBM rack, sometimes the HMC is just an half an inch too short from side to side. This happens when you are installing the hardware in a datacenter that you have no control over the rack. The only way to solve this is to loosen the screws ever so slightly on the rails on the server or HMC and then push the system into the rack. THIS IS NOT IDEAL and not a good idea. We need some piece of hardware that is attached to the system and the rail that is expanable that will hold the weight of the server/HMC and allows you to fit it into the different size racks.
