Set Wide Screen Mode (27x132) as the Default Option or (preferrably) the only option for ACS 5250 Configuration

When end-users setup their devices they don't have 20 to 40 years experience with *DS3 and *DS4 mode. They're not sure what 27x132 means. Since is it 2022 and not 1982, it would be better to default to 27x132 for ACS 5250 Display Configurations. If it were only up to me, I would in fact remove the 24x80 option entirely as it serves no use other than to disable "wide screen mode" and makes work for Systems Admins or (in shops where there is no systems admin) one of the Developers has to go modify it when the user tries to use a wide-screen App like DSPSPLF or the myriad others (including many 3rd party and end-user/in-house Apps).

Thank you for the quick reply. I would respond by saying that the user interface component that contains the two options be changed to a list box instead of a drop-down list box. That way at least users can see the options. Many don't think to click the arrow to drop down choices because they don't understand what it is. Alternatively a "radio button" approach to that option would be even better. Thank you.

Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS). After evaluating your submission, the decision at this time is to not change the current default screen from 24x80 to 27x132. There are a variety of factors to consider. In additional to a user's preference and environment, language must also be taken into consideration. However, you can easily change the default for new 5250 sessions and your users (if you are an administrator) by selecting Communication --> Set As Default Profile. Selecting that after you have configured everything the way you want will make all new 5250 session configurations use those settings. It will not change any existing saved configurations.
