Password change using system groups

A number of our customers have users that have different passwords based on the system(s) they use. This would allow the users to sync their passwords by the system purpose they use for the systems. Better security might possibly be obtained by reducing the system password lists users tend to keep.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request. There is an acceptable work-around, as stated in the previous comment.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBMIdeas on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your Idea.

You can change you password and keep it in sync with each other by going into ACS > Edit > Preferences > Passwords > Highlight the systems you want to change the passwords for (this can be one or many) and update your password. Your first task would be to get your password in sync manually and then this would work.
