Partitioned tables increase limit partitions (more than 256 partitions)

Hello,

We think that it will be useful increase actual limit of 256 partitions on a partitioned table.

Our customer generates really big amount of information (Banking customer), and our estimations are that on next year he won't have enough space only on one table, arriving at the maximum number of registers allowed. Last years, the customer doesn't want to delete or history any data. So, our solution consist in convert this tables to partitioned tables.

Thinking on the future closer, it won't enough only with 256 partitions because at present the data are increasing exponential.

On the other hand, I think it could be useful for those customers that are using IBM i as DDBB for BI and also are adding big amounts of information's.

I hope you understand my point of view with the aim to increase this limit.

Thank you.

Regards,

Idea priority High
