Thank you for taking the time to submit this IBM Idea to ask for a 1 Core 25 user S1022s P05 software tier to address the needs of the smallest IBM i customers. Since there are several alternatives already available, IBM does not plan at this time to offer such a configuration, so this Idea is being closed as ?Not under consideration?.

The alternatives in the Power portfolio that are already available to meet the needs of the small footprint for the small users include these:

    1. 9105-41B, which can be deconfigured to reduce the maintenance cost. Read this announcement letter for more information about this model: https://www.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/8/897/ENUS122-028/index.html&request_locale=en

    2. 9009-22G has a 1-core option to address IT budgets that are more constrained. Read this announcement letter for more information about this model: https://www.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/5/897/ENUS120-025/index.html&request_locale=en

    3. There is also the IBM i System Subscription offering. Read this announcement letter for more information: https://www.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/0/897/ENUS122-090/index.html

Please do keep submitting new ideas and suggestions to help us determine where to focus future investments.

CEAC has discussed this idea and considers it high especially for a lot of small customrs to be able to move them to current technology.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
