With the release of i7.5 the OS delivered OpenSSL PASE libraries are compatible with 64 bit applications, but for releases prior to i7.5 they are only compatible with 32bit linkage. As most applications are being built as 64bit architecture binaries, this means that there is no way to support OpenSSL on i7.4 or earlier for any 64bit application.
Using the toolbox libraries is not an ideal solution for applications that are shipped to external customers who may not want to install those objects for a variety of reasons.
