Change Open Source Member to Edit/Browse Mode

Currently if a source member is open in Browse mode, if I want to make a change, I have to close and re-open it in Edit mode. It would be nice if I could just use the right click menu to set Edit Mode. This would make a trip to the host to lock the member, and make sure the version in my editor is up-to-date. Basically attempts an open for edit behind the scenes. If this fails, it should simply notify the developer that it is already open, and leave what is currently in the editor as is.

    This feature is now available in the IBM Rational Developer for i V9.6 product with V9.6.0.2 fixpack installed.

    It is now easy to toggle between edit and browse modes using either the Ctrl-Shift-G keyboard shortcut or by selecting "Toggle Edit/Browse Mode" from the Source menu. The icon in the editor tab shows whether a member is in edit or browse mode.

    Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.

    This would be useful, since I often want to edit source loaded not only from RSE, but from //TODO tags or string searches as well.
