RELATED IDEAS

ACS opens empty terminal window

When I open IBM i Access Client Solutions or 5250 emulator, this opens an empty Terminal app. This happens since Windows 11 replaced the command interpreter (cmd.exe) by Terminal app.

    I don't know what changed in this version but my antivirus (WithSecure) does not like it. Program acslaunch_win-64.exe is blocked when I try to execute it. I had to add it to white list in my antivirus.

    Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS). Unfortunately, Microsoft decided to change the default command-line to Windows Terminal. Here is an article explaining that:

    We understand this does not provide an optimal user experience and will consider providing an update to address it though no commitment is made nor implied. In the interim, you can change the default command-line back by following the steps in this article:
