RPG should allow to use the SQL long names Merged

Right now, RPG does not support names longer than 10 positions. I define SQL tables with long name. I do not like to use the LONGN00001 for example.

    If this Idea is related to the name of the table, there is an existing Idea about using the SQL table name for externally-described data structures. If that Idea is implemented, it would also apply to File definitions (DCL-F). See https://ibm-power-systems.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/IBMI-I-1893. Therefore this Idea is being closed as a Duplicate of idea 1893.

    If this Idea is related to long column names, then indeed you can specify the ALIAS keyword to use the long names instead of the short names.

    ILE RPG supports the long names through the ALIAS keyword on the file definition.
