RELATED IDEAS

Create SQL Functions ("IBM Services") that retrieve the Problems database information (QASX* files and WRKPRB command)

Using WRKPRB we can see some of the information related to hardware and software problems. That info is stored in the QAXS* database files in QUSRSYS. I would like a set of SQL Table functions or VIEWS that can be used to access that information via SQL engines vs only CL commands. That way we can have the information on screen and use it while analyzing the issue(s) and also to provide that info more easily to IBM Support.

    The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.

    Since the data is already stored in tables, we recommend building their own views.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.

    We have received some other requests for WRKPRB information, so we are setting this Idea back to an Uncommitted Candidate. It will be considered as we establish future plans, but no commitment to implement it is made or implied.

    IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea at this time, so it is being closed.

    While we agree that your Idea has value, it ranks lower than other enhancements in our backlog. Since it is unlikely to be implemented in the next 3 years, we are closing the Idea but will keep it on an internal list of valid ideas to consider for the future.
