This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority Idea that should be addressed.
It's important while inside of DST/SST to ensure that you are on the correct system.

For many, LPAR Name = System Name, even though that is not facutally accurate.
In SST/DST it makes most sense to me to see something like this in the upper right corner where - in the OS - we see the system name as it is in DSPNETA
SYSTEM NAME - as in DSPNETA (e.g. SuperCo)
LPAR NAME(#) - as on HMC (e.g. PROD(5) )
CEC MTM/SN - (e.g. 900922A-78xxyzz)
We are also looking for any input/clarification on the definition of the term "system name." Would you prefer the "Partition name" on the displays, or did you really mean "System name?" Or do you need both?

For example: Add unit to ASP, replace suspended unit, start mirror protection, display disk configuration, display NVMe namespaces, Work with Error Logs, Hardware Service Manager display configuration, etc.
Thank you in advance for your input,
IBM Power Systems development
The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a HIGH priority requirement that is important to address.
The bigger systems get - more cloud-like etc. the more important it becomes to not take down the system by error....
