Needing a search engine for BRMS history with Heritage BRMS not available in future

With removal of the Heritage BRMS, restores of IFS items are difficult when needing to do a search with the system UIM limitations on the green screen to find files if directory has more then 49917 files in it.

Heritage BRMS had function for history which gave the flexibility to find files without being limited by system.  Also, give you information on what tapes are require on the restore easier when green screen doesn't show the full picture of multiple tapes require for restores.

With Heritage BRMS fully removed from OS 7.5, and worry IBM could work on removing it from OS 7.4 which currently on, we will be without a search tool for ifs restores.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a HIGH priority requirement that is important to address.

This is essential that the new GUI has the same features as the old Navigator.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

The BRMS team will use this request as input to planning but no commitment is made or implied. This request will be updated in the future if IBM implements it. The BRMS team will use votes and comments from others in the community to help prioritize this request.
