Compute Express Link CXL 3.0 or CXL 4.0 Virtual Hierarchical Switching Fabric
CXL 3.0 is built upon the IBM OpenCAPI, but CXL3 and CXL 4 have more speeds and will achieve the following:
1- Enabling the Interconnection between the next version Power System ( may be IBM Power 11 or Later ) and Exa scale AI Data Centers based on Nvidia DGX H100 based on Nvidia H100 GPUs and Intel Xeon Scalable Processor (Now, 4th Generation Xeon Scalable Processor 4 supports CXL 1.1 , but in the future versions they will support CXL 2.0 or CXL 3.0).
2- Enabling the interconnection between the Next IBM Power Systems ( Power 11 or later) which can achieve the Memory Area Network, which will push the integration between the IBM z Linux ONE and IBM Power to the Next level of Future AI Data centers.
3- Enabling the IBM Power ( Power 11 and later version) interconnections with the CXL 3.0 or CXL 4.0 Networking Virtual Hierarchical Switches, which enable the CXL Devices, e.g. FPGA Devices, Memory Devices, Data Storage Devices and other futuristic devices
