IBM i records failed authentications, which appear in the audit journal entries, but is missing a unified entry type for successful authentications. From an auditing perspective, this makes it hard to comprehensively track and report on successful authentication. Adding auditing of successful authentication would make the retrieval and use of this data for security more efficient and more comprehensive.
The submitter works for a company that creates IBM i security solutions and we have regular requests from customers about how succesful authentications can be tracked.
Do not place IBM confidential, company confidential, or personal information into any field.
