The API's used to implement DATA-INTO are great. However missing the possibility to provide NULL
values. RPG supports that a variable can have the special value of NULL
but the the API does not allow to transfer this special case.
Especially while dealing JSON this is a must have.
Example:
When using
QrnDiReportValue (handle , value , valuelen);
will fail is the value ( in this case) is a NULL
pointer.
Suggestion 1:
QrnDiReportValue (handle , NULL , 0);
Suggestion 2:
QrnDiReportNull (handle);
Both solution would work equally well, but suggestion 2 requires changing the prototypes hower, allows it to be backwards compatible, since the method is not available in older releases of the implementation and the API client can monitor for that and make a fall-back.
