ACS Hotspots

We would like to take full advantage of ACS Hotspots but there is a conflict with programs where the mouse button has been enabled to recognise a double-click.

The ENTER at cursor position also treated as double-click takes precedence and returns x’F1’ in the aid-byte instead of expected x’73’.

Requirement:

Ideally with ENTER at cursor position, programs should NOT lose Mouse Button functionality.

The Search Order for Hotspots should consider display files with mouse action double-click and the ENTER at cursor position should behave different (ie not send the ENTER key or update the aid-byte with a double-click action).

Benefit:

The IBM i Developer Community would NOT be required to re-program Mouse Button actions for in-house developed software or vendor supplied software to work alongside ACS hotspots.

In addition, when you enable Point-and-Select Commands you lose double-click copy capability.

There needs to be a way to retain all click actions.

If you had the ability to assign the Point-and-Select Commands to a right-mouse click action then you could retain the existing left-mouse click functionality. You get to keep it all.
