Requesting a series of SQL examples to add queries f trace results.

As we add more external systems connecting to the IBM i, the number of times the traces have been required to determine a failure is growing. I have had to open several tickets/case over time to get IBM Support to decode the traces for us. This process takes times until the IBM person can get to the problem.

If a SQL SELECT could be added to read the trace output and display it in ACS would be a great time savings. It does not need to provide a details report on the trace (to begin with) but should have a little more than the basics. The detail would be dependent on the types of traces, example, comms traces, TRCAPP, ODBC traces, and more.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea at this time, so it is being closed.

With many types of traces, returning trace data in a usable way is very complex. This team has many other higher priority Ideas for services, so a family of trace services is unlikely to be provided in the near future.
