Integrated File System option in ACS keeps asking for password for multiple operation

If ACS is set to ask for user and password each app opening (say to open different IFS ACS windows using different users),

it keeps asking for password even for EACH sub-operation, like "download".

Recreate:

open ACS IFS using ask for user and pass (not saved).

In ACS IFS ctrl click some files to "download" them in one action.

ACS IFS asks for a password and user EACH download.

Now do that for 10000 files ;)

Solution:

ACS should ask for password during application/session launch, not for every sub operation inside such already athenticated session.

Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS). The behavior you are describing is consistent with the connection setting ?Prompt for user name and password every time?. That setting will prompt the user for each separate connection being made to the IBM i server. In case of an IFS download, a multiple file download request is multi-threaded with each thread requiring its own connection and authentication. There are no plans to change this. The connection setting can be changed at System Configurations, select a system and then Edit, select the Connection tab, choose any of the other settings to eliminate the additional prompts.
