After using the sort option on the DDS source screen, lines that have have REFFLD keywords get their length, data type, and decimals filled in. This causes some attributes of the referenced field to no longer be copied in and results in a change of behavior of the screen. Lines that were not moved are not changed.
Having these added values become part of the screen DDS causes issues if the referenced fields later get changed also - the screen fields will not automatically get changed if the DDS is recompiled.
The sort option is used to shuffle source lines to match the screen order only.
It should not be changing any attributes of the fields involved, not just those with REFFLD keywords.

The request for enhancement has been deemed a defect in our product. Please refer to the APAR generated for this issue to track it to resolution. APAR # is SE54144.
I agree that is should be considered a defect, but I did not see how to report it as such. Hopefully once it is assessed it will be classified as a defect that needs to be fixed.
I think this should be classified as a defect not an enhancement request.
This negates most advantages of reference fields. I now have to go back and check a bunch of members to correct this issue.
