This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

In IBM Rational Developer for i, when you are in a source member, such as RPGLE, and you want to compare that source to another version of the source, say the production version you have to do a whole lot of clicking and typing before you find the source you want. If you want to do another file, you have to start all over again, even if you are going to the same source physical file.
In IBM Rational Developer for i, when you are in a source member, such as RPGLE, and you want to compare that source to another version of the source, say the production version, you have to click the triangle icon for Compare File, then click the system name, then click Work with libraries, and then type the library, then click the library name, and then click the name again, and then scroll through the files to find QRPGLESRC, and then click that and then click the top source member and then type the first letter of the source you are looking for and eventually click that to do the compare. I LOVE THE COMPARE, I find it tedious to do so much clicking when 99% of the time I want to look in the exact same QRPGLESRC file. Can you add an option tot he very first screen to go directly to the last source physical file you looked in?

An enhancement to this would be a key sequence that brings up a dialog similar to the Ctrl-Shift-A dialog, and populated with the current source file, library, and member. Then it would usually be a simple matter of changing the library, or member name to the appropriate value.
This RFE is a duplicate of another RFE. See RFE34475: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=34475 for current status.
Two source members can also be compared by selecting both in the RSE view, right click -> Compare With -> Each Other.
