Match storage information between WRKSYSSTS and ISeries Performance Report

Hi,

As part of the performance monitoring activities on our iSeries, we are capturing the report from iSeries Performance tool and we observed the used disk size is different between the report from performance tool and WRKSYSSTS by almost 5% to 8%.

Operators were showing high disk usage by capturing the storage data in WRKSYSSTS but the performance report from the performance tool shows less and we couldn't match the data from operators with the performance report.

Case raised on this issue and IBM identified the WRKSYSSTS works on Base 10 version (conversion approach to convert from Bytes to GB) whereas performance tool works on Base 2 version, and they also mentioned that each was created by different development teams not aware of the existence of each other tool.

They gave an idea to share as the client suggestion here (Enclosed the IBM response).

I kindly request to follow the same Base version to follow for both WRKSYSSTS and IBM Performance tool to have the value accurate and sync. This would be really helpful to have the data between wrkrsyssts and performance report match each other.

Eagerly waiting for your response.

Thanks,

Ganesh Kandaswamy

Can we get more information by what you mean by Performance tool ? Are you referring to PT1 Reports or Performance Data Investigator or something else? Any specific examples would be helpful to make sure we are aware of what you are comparing to WRKSYSSTS.
