Add Continuation Handle to QWCRJBLK API

"Job holds a large number of locks" but the best we can do is the limitation on the size of a Poitner to a User Space (16M) of available space to dump the job locks info with QWCRJBLK. The API needs to have a Continuation Handle like those used in many other APIs for those rare instances when we can't get all the locks into one 16M space.

Thank you for the suggestion on filter. The message "job hold a large number of locks" occurs during our nightly backup using IBM i SAVLIB commands. So it is not a loop or rogue proc. Thanks again.

Thank you for submitting your Idea.

Generally when there is a large number of locks held in a job, it is because of a loop or rogue procedure that is obtaining the same lock over an over. In these cases, it is not so important that all the lock entries be returned, since the entries are all the same or have the same repeating pattern.

If the lock entries returned is validly overflowing the 16M space, filtering the locks requested might be a possible workaround.

For these reasons, I do not believe this request has high enough priority compared to other development work items so I am declining at this time.
