BRMS - Please enhance help text for error message BRM1771

We tried to change the Expiration Date of a tape-volume, either to *PERM or to a date in 3 years. This resulted in the error message BRM1771,  which states that the date-format is incorrect. But the date-format was correctly set.  After raising an IBM support case we learned that it is impossible to change the expiration date from *VER (which it was set before) to a date or *PERM. This is work-as-designed. The error message text is misleading, because in this case it had nothing to do with a wrong date format. Please enhance it with something like: "its impossible to change a version retention expiration to *PERM or a specific date, if the volume is part of a media set"

The BRMS team does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. The Cause and Recovery for the BRM1771 message seem appropriate to explain this situation. The Cause is stating that 'Version retention changes are not allowed at the volume level' which is saying the change is not allowed for a volume using versioning. The recovery explains that using option 13 you could change individual items (contents) on the volume to have an expiration date if desired.
