This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Retain search results (Remote Search view), even after the view or the software is closed. Also, allow these saved search results to be shared between developers. Presently, when doing numerous searches (e.g., via "Find String . . ." [FNDSTRPDM] from right-click menu in Remote Systems view [IBM i connection]), the history of all searches is retained & can be re-selected from the menu in Remote Search view, as long as Remote Search view remains open. However, once Remote Search view is closed or the software is closed, these search results are lost.
Embarking on a new project, we search for specific files or field names, to determine all references to these in our source code libraries. Especially on projects requiring extensive changes, this process expands exponentially as the value of one field is moved to another, from file to file, etc. We then need to find all references to the new files & fields and the expansion continues. Many searches produces hundreds of lines in scores of source members. Currently, to retain this info, we need to maximize the view, print a screenshot, scroll down to the next page, print a screenshot, etc. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to simply re-access the results of each search when we are ready to use them and be able to share them with other developers on the project.
It could also be useful to be able to print the entire contents of the Remote Search view, rather than having to scroll and print screenshots if we need hard copies of this information.
