Value of column Temporary storage in WRKACTJOB should show the same value as WRKJOB

Sine IBM i 7.2 the new column "Temporary storage" has been added to the command WRKACTJOB .

Sometimes it does not show the same value as in:

  • WRKJOB OPTION(*RUNA)

  • QUSRJOBI / JOBI0150

  • SELECT TEMPORARY_STORAGE FROM table(active_job_info())

I have already created an IBM ticket. They say that the value in WRKACTJOB is a rounded value (using DIVR (divide and round)). And the value in the other command, API, SQL is calculated by SLIC with truncation of the decimal places instead of rounding.


The different values are confusing for the user.

WRKACTJOB should be changed, so that it show the the same value as in the other commands, API, SQL.


Maybe this change can also be changed via PTF for the current release.

    The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that is important to address. They understand the wish for consistency here.

    Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
