Possibility for %lookup to search more than one field of a structure.

In data structures, lookup using %lookup is fantastic.

But it would be interesting to add the possibility of searching on two or more fields:

structure(1).field1 = 'A';

structure(1).field2 = 123;

structure(1).field.....

structure(2).field1 = 'B';

structure(2).field2 = 456;

structure(1).field.....

//.....

position = %lookup structure %fields(field1:field) %values('B':456);

// that should return 2

    Many years ago I sugested that it should be possible to specify a compare procedure for %lookup and sorta.
    This would make the suggestion above very easy to implement.

    IBM will use this Idea as input to planning, but no commitment is made or implied. This Idea will be updated in the future if IBM implements it. IBM will use votes and comments from others in the community to help prioritize this Idea.

    If this idea is implemented, the most likely syntax will be a new form of %FIELDS where both the subfield names and values can be specified. For example, the syntax might be similar to the following:

    position = %lookup (%fields(field1 => 'B' : field2 => 456) : structure(*))
