This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The current API named QWCRTVCA works okay, but in those times when you only need the current library (*CURLIB) for something, setting up the parameters and calling QWCRTVCA is far too verbose and complex. Please create a new simplified API to return the Job's *CURLIB name in the spirit of the Qp0wGetJobID API (that returns the qualified job name). That is the only purpose would be to retrieve the current library name. Something like:
int Qp0wGetCurlib( char* pCurLib );
Where pCurLib must be a user-supplied buffer (at least 10 bytes) that contains the name of the current library for the caller's job. If there is no current library, or *CURLIB value is *CRTDFT then QGPL is returned (which is standard behavior). The returned int value is 1 if a current library exists, and 0 (or -1 if that feels better) if no current library exists.

Since there are already several ways to retrieve this information, the priority of this request is lower than other work we have planned so I am declining at this time.
