Add Command and Package Definitions to the new Navigator for i (iACS)

After migrating to the newer IBM i ACS environment, Management Central system function is missing from IBM Navigator for i!!!

The Management Central of old Client Access iNavigator, provided the ability to simultaneously perform systems management tasks on multiple iSeries Systems. Some of those tasks were the Command & Package Definitions, that you could create a command definition to save a command that you want to run over and over on multiple endpoint systems and system groups or a package that you could create a bulk data transfer and initiate a process of sending packages, fixes, PDFs and so on, from a source system to a target system in a single transfer.

This function/ability was very helpful on Organizations housing dozens of IBMi LPARs!!!

Thanks for your input. We agree that this idea has merit and would be a useful enhancement. IBM will use this Idea as input to planning, but no commitment is made or implied. This Idea will be updated in the future if IBM implements it. IBM will use votes and comments from others in the community to help prioritize this Idea.

Hello Mrs Maria del Carmen Ruvalcaba Cevallos,

We obviously use HMCs for the management of our LPARs. Probably it was not understood but I believe that the point was clear! I am referring to functionality of the old Client Access iNavigator which are called Command & Package Definitions! Τhis functionality has nothing to do with any function of the HMCs.

    Please kindly reconsider the request!

    With kind regards,

    Stavros Agiasotis.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.

Anyone with more than a few LPAR's should have an HMC.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
