Full support of Field Reference File (FRF) in SQL

When creating tables via SQL it is not possible to use the concept of a FRF to define fields in a consistent way and especially query the catalogs later on to find the origin of a field.

A workaround is a CREATE TABLE AS however this doesn't support all the features of SQL (identity columns, null values, alternative names, ...)

It would therefore be handy to have a REFFLD keyword that can be specified instead of a datatype for example;

create table person (
  ID for column PEID reffld(MYFRF, ID),
  LastName for column PELSTN reffld(MYFRF, LSTN) not null with default,
  FirstName for column PEFSTN reffld(MYFRF, FSTN) not null with default
)

    IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea at this time, so it is being closed.

    There are several other ideas under consideration that address related situations. We encourage the user community to read, vote, and comment on these other solutions. The other Ideas are starting points. We believe expansion of these Ideas could satisfy some of the highlights of this request.
