BRMS ICC backup to AWS Cloud only allows US East region for storing data

Please see PMR Case number TS016529098.  We are looking to use BRMS to send backup data to an S3 bucket at AWS.  By default it is directing to AWS US East region and we are told there is no option to send data to another region.

We faced issues with errors that the S3 bucket was unreachable and message malformed.  The default/IBM recommended URI to use in BRMS for AWS is S3.amazonaws.com, and by default this URI directs it to US-East region. On BRMS there are no alternate options to define any other cloud storage location to direct it to a location such as SA-EAST (Brazil), for example. We tried multiple options like changing the entries on VPN and Brazil end points to make it direct the backup to SA- East region with no luck.  AWS support tells us that we cannot reach an S3 bucket in one region by a VPN from another region.

The configuration of ICC (BRMS) on IBM i is defaulting to AWS-US-East and there is no way to change it, per IBM support.  Therefore, since our S3 bucket is in Brazil, it is unreachable and unusable.
