This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

When using the HMC Probe utility to open a new ACS HMC 5250 system console, the host code page always defaults to 037 even if the default.hod session profile ("<documents>\IBM\iAccessClient\OpCon\Sessions\hmc\<hmc_hostname>\s\default.hod"), have been edited to use anothervalue for host code page.
You always have to manually edit this for the 5250 System Console for every new system and save it. For a dual HMC setup you also have to edit it for each HMC as well. All System console users will also have to do it as this setting is personal.
This is so annoying.
There should also be a way to set a default language/country at the "Welcome to Remote 5250 Console" screen, I guess this sets the keyboard language.
Both these settings needs to be correct to display/enter the right characters.
If you have a requirement to have special characters in password, failure to set this right could mean that you, by mistake, enter the wrong character instead of the right one and the accidental locks your account.
