Allow for a user specific version of AcsConfig.properties in the users home directory

Allow for a user specific version of AcsConfig.properties in the users home directory that will be considered before the versions in the iacs directory and the jar file.

This will allow users to have their own properties that will not be overwritten when a new version of iacs is installed (which might overwrite the existing AcsConfig.properties).

The location of the property file should be appropriate for the OS (i.e., ~/.config/IBM/AcsConfig.properties for linux, etc).

Also allow a way for administrators to prevent the user specific property file to be loaded when needed for security purposes.

Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS). The AcsConfig.properties is intended to be controlled by an Administrator. It is not overwritten during an update if the install scripts are used. However, your administrator may have provided their own way to update ACS which overlays AcsConfig.properties. We have no plans to look for AcsConfig.properties in a user home location. You can have your own customized AcsConfig.properties file by having your own installation of ACS.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature.

This is a reasonable user interface request if time allows to implement.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
