Start having IBM Navigator for i use Java 17

Start having IBM Navigator for i use Java 17 as IBM announced End of Service for Java 8 will be April of 2025 for all platforms except Z.

Do not use Java 11 as IBM announced that 7.5 will be the last release of IBM i to support Java 11. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/668193

    Each of the admin jobs handle different web interfaces. We are upping each in turn as it makes sense. Admin4.. that may Never get updated as the web support that runs in that job is transitioning to Navigator over time. Additionally, Java 8 is still fully support. If you look at the IBM Java support page, the support date for Java 8 has been extended to Nov 26

    Additionally, there has been NO announce from the IBM i team withdrawing support for the JV1 product of IBM i.

    Then why am I seeing ADMIN2, ADMIN4, ADMIN5 jobs NOT using Java 17?

    If these are not part of Navigator do I need to open separate ideas for each?

    This was done Q2 2023 for Navigator: Q2 2023 - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6520030#Q12024, and for Monitors: Q1 2024.
    Navigator will use the highest level Java (17, 11, 8) available on the system.
