EIM Windows domain source mapping from CRTUSRPRF

On CRTUSRPRF we have the parameter EIMASSOC. This lets us create an EIM identifier and add the current system as a TARGET. Every new user that is created need to also have the windows domain as a SOURCE in order for single signon to work. This means that an administrator would need to go through IBM i Navigator just to add that source mapping. This is tedious.

I'm aware of the API for creating a tool but this should be a base function in a command.

This idea already existed once, unfortunately without realisation.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea, so it is being closed. As noted in the previous Idea, there are user profile exit points/programs that can be used to create the needed mappings. The EIM association (EIMASSOC) parameter on CRTUSPRRF and CHGUSRPRF was added to facilitate adding associations for the local registry (current system). It was never intended to provide support for managing all associations for the user. In hindsight, the parameter should not have been provided on these commands since the EIM association information is not part of the user profile ?object? like the other attributes on the commands and is not saved/restored with the user profile.

The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.

Our opinion is in correlation with IBM on the original ticket, they are not planning to support this functionality.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.

I agree, this should be a built in and native function without having to rely on creating you own programs that use the API or use 3-part products.
