IPv6 - Provide default gateway configuration for SST LAN adapter interface

It is not possible in the existing OS releases to configure the default gateway for IPv6 interface in SST LAN interface. The only way how to make IPv6 interface working for this interface is to configure a LAN switch with auto discovery setup which will broad cast the DFGTW among other information. Such, auto-discovery feature is not an option for big corporate VLAN configuration when the auto-discovery is disabled due to security concern.

    The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority Idea that should be addressed.

    If you use IP6, then this is valid. Most small shops are not.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.
