Enable F4 on the remove image catalogue entry so KEEP can be set to *YES

While the RMVIMGCLGE provides an option and is the default to KEEP(*YES) the associated image catalogue file the 4=Remove option in WRKIMGCLGE provides no option to keep the associated file.

This is inconsistent and has resulted in image files being accidentally deleted which could be a major  issue.

    My apologies, the 'Keep image files' prompt is only displayed when deleting the entire image catalog. I'm re-opening your request to be considered. Thanks for the detailed explanation.

    I am on V7R4, I enter wrkimgclg and press Enter

    I use option 12 to see the entries for the selected catalogue. This is an optical catalogue.

    I use 4=Remove and press Enter (F4 is not an option)

    I press Enter to confirm my selection. There are no additional options where I can specify to keep the image file.

    The image file is removed from the catalogue AND Deleted from the directory.

    CPCBC30 Image catalog entry 5 removed from image catalog V7R4_PTF.

    Am I missing something ?

    Hello. Actually, this functionality already exists. The option to 'Keep image files' (*YES or *NO) is displayed after pressing enter on 'Confirm Delete of Image Catalog'. The next screen presented is 'Delete Image Catalog' screen where you can select to 'Keep image files' which defaults to *NO.
