This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

It doesn't directly address the request, but you may want to look at the new IBM i NetServer audit records that were added in IBM i 7.6. System administrators now have the option of enabling VP-S audit records to record new, changed, and removed shares on the system. The VP-S audit record includes the share name, path, user making the update, and other information useful in monitoring new or changed entry points into the file system. We also added VP-C and VP-E audit records to record all server and share connects and disconnects. That information can be used to help track down a user or client machine that was accessing the machine during a given time period and the level of access to the share that NetServer granted.

Absolutely, identifying the share name would be a tremendous help when securing systems.
This is a great idea! I fully endorse this and hope the IBM i team takes notice.
