a user has to navigate 9 screens to get signed on to the system console. I would like to have parms in the .hod file for the console session to circumvent these screens.

After I submitted idea, I found the process described. the missing step in your list is to FIRST start the shared sessions on the HMC. the last step was to save the console session as a .bchx file to place on my desktop
My thoughts? Some people are paranoid of giving the users access to the main iACS screen and have them select Console. The last thing most companies want to do is to secure their data. They'd prefer 'security by obscurity' and green vs an easy to use GUI.
Some 'end users' need console to do dedicated backups, etc.
That, and tossing up the main iACS screen would be adding a screen to their task.
They'd rather have a .hod file on the users workspace which the user can simply click on.
