Communication --> Configure --> Advanced. Please allow us to disable users access to the Advanced portion of the connection tree. We don't want the users to be able to change the protocol.

Less time spent getting users online if they are able to get into the advanced portion.  We prefer to use 'Prompt Everytime' setting

Thank you for submitting your Idea to enhance IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS). For a 5250 emulation session, there are already 2 options available to force your users to enter a user id and password every time. For clarity, note the difference between the smaller ACS panel that pops up and prompts you for a user id and password and the 5250 emulation screen that prompts you for a userid and password. Some administrators enable bypass signon so that a user does not have to enter their credentials two times?once for the ACS panel that pops up and again for the 5250 emulation signon screen. The user will have to enter the ACS credentials at least once depending on the ACS prompt mode they have set for that system in System Configurations. When bypass signon is enabled, ACS will use the credentials provided on the ACS signon popup to bypass the 5250 emulation signon screen. But you can disable 5250 bypass signon (for everyone) on the IBM i by changing the system value for QRMTSIGN to *FRCSIGNON. With that system value set on the IBM i, it does not matter what ACS prompt mode is set, every 5250 emulation session will have to enter their credentials on the 5250 signon screen.

If you do not want to disable 5250 bypass signon for all your users and you still want to restrict a specific 5250 configuration (.hod file) to prevent it from being changed from its menu, you can remove some items from its Menu Bar. It does not have the granularity you asked for, but it should suffice for what you want to do. From the ACS main GUI:
    1. Start 5250 Session Manager
    2. Tools --> Customize Menu Bar?
    3. File --> Open, then select the .hod file for the configuration you want to change
    4. For Menu Level 1, select Communication
    5. For Menu Level 2, select Configure?
    6. Select Delete
    7. Select Exit
    8. Save it to the name you want.
When that .hod file is now used to start a 5250 session, the Communication-->Configure option will not be available.

We do not plan on providing any more granularity for restricting the configuration.
