Add SIRGAS 2000 as supported datum on DB2 for i

Since 2005, Brazil has adopted datum SIRGAS 2000 as its official Georeferencing System. Therefore, all information exchanged between government entities must adhere to this standard. It is also used by other Latin American countries. Thus, it would be of paramount importance for DB2 for i to have compatibility with it.

    The CEAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority Idea that is important to be addressed. They understand the dependency on IBM Research but still anted to cast their vote to emphasize importance...

    Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual IBM Ideas on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your Idea.

    IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this Idea at this time, so it is being closed.

    We understand the request, and agree that it would be a nice enhancement. Unfortunately, the Db2 for i team is dependent on the IBM research group to provide enhancements such as this for our Geospatial Analytics support. We have shared the request with them, but cannot predict when (or if) they will elect to implement it. For that reason we are closing this Idea now. If the research group decides to deliver this support at some time in the future, we will update this Idea to notify the IBM i community.
