When replacing a NIC that is part of an Ethernet Link Aggregation configuration, it is necessary to temporarily disable the Line description on IBMi OS. As a result, the IP address is deactivated, making a service outage unavoidable.Although Power servers support active maintenance of NIC adapters at the hardware level, the need to stop services during NIC replacement remains a challenge in terms of maintainability.Ethernet Link Aggregation is a simple configuration method that allows for easy NIC redundancy. We would like to see improvements to prevent IP address deactivation during NIC replacement.
IBM business impact statement
This will be a selling point for customers who are hoping for continuous operation with IBMi. Daito Trust Construction is currently using the IBMi system with the E1080, and they have expressed a strong desire for the above improvements.

Last week we had one link of a pair drop. We did not find any network problems; after scheduled IPL the link was up. We need a way to disable/enable individual links for trouble shooting, testing and maintenance.
Great idea +1
I will bring up with CEAC
