    The CAAC has reviewed this IBM Idea and recommends that IBM not implement this request.

    We recommend the use of "Service Commander" which is supported by STRTCPSVR.

    This can be done by

    1. coding a program to handle start and stop of the syslog server, and

    2. run the ADDTCPSVR command and specify the program in the PGM parameter.

    This has the benefit of adding autostart functionality to the syslog server, since this can be specified on ADDTCPSVR parameter AUTOSTART.
