Provide an end time for long running jobs in Advanced Job Scheduler (5770JS1)

We have a number of long running AJS jobs that start 06:00 and end 23:00 for example. It would be great to have this function built-in rather than have to write a routine to end the job.

Looking at the job setup criteria, you are not using Maximum runtime. It is set to *NOMAX which means the job will keep going until it either completes or if something goes wrong, it can stay in a hung position until it is ended manually. The start/end times are just a window of time of ?when? the job can start, it will not terminate the job at the end time, in your case 5 am. So, I think if you used the Max runtime feature and say terminates the job after, for example 60 mins, or however long you thinks the job should have ran, that should help.
A good rule of thumb would be to use 2x-4x the normal runtime for the Max runtime unless the job is extremely predictable.
    Does this fulfill your requirement?

Can you please explain further on how your restart is happening? Are you submitting a new command or using Navigator? Please describe details (exact command) on how you are restarting when the job fails.
Please could provide your set up screens and more details on AJS job configuration.

Thank you for submitting this Idea.
The link provided discusses a way to set the maximum time in minutes that the job can run. But you need the job to end (regardless of whether it has completed) at a specific time? This seems like it could cause additional problems. Can you please provide more information on what you want to do with this? Set an end time regardless of job state?
