RDI: Fields defined in multiple files are not shown in outline

When a field is defined in multiple files it is not possible to see this in the outline.
If you have 2 files ( myFileA and myFileB ) both containing the field myField then expanding the outline for myFileA should also show the line for myFileB with a (D) in the end. In the same way expanding the outline for myFileB should also show the line for myFileA with a (D) in the end.

Use Case:

- Files
- myFileA
- myFileArec
- myField
- 123 (D)
- 700
- 800 (M)
- myFileB
- myFileBrec
- myField
- 100 (D)
- 700
- 800 (M)

Here myFileA is declared in line 100 and myFileB is declared in line 123 and it is clear to see that it is defined and occurs in two files.
myField is also referred to in line 700 and modified in line 800 as can be seen today.

This feature is now available as part of the IBM Rational Developer for i 9.5.1.2 Fix Pack.

    Product web page: http://www.ibm.com/software/products/us/en/dev-ibm-i

ILE RPG fields defined in multiple externally-described files are now shown all places where they are defined in the outline. Note: This is only supported for the live outline view in the LPEX editor. Live outline is the default setting, but you can check if you go to Window > Preferences, then select Remote Systems > Remote Systems LPEX editor > ILE RPG and make sure that this is selected "Update the Outline view when the text is changed in the editor".

Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.

A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
