Rational Developer for i DDS Design with REFFLD & adjustment value

When using the Rational Developer for i DDS Design tool for a display file, the Design tab does not display the field(s) correctly when using a REFFLD that also has a size adjustment.


Use Case:

Open an existing display file source or create a new one.
Define a field with a REFFLD definition(Input/Output/Both field type results are the same).
Adjust the length of the field with a +/- value in the Len++ column, for example create a field with a REFFLD that's 30 character long then place a -5 in the length value to adjust it down to 25 characters.
Save the source changes with Ctrl+S.
Go to the Design tab to see the result which will still space the length out to 30 with only 25 characters occupying the space.

    Thank you for taking the time to submit your request. After careful consideration, we know that we cannot deliver your requested enhancement in the near term, so it is being declined. However, your request does align with the future strategy of our product and we believe it may have future value, so we will add it to an internal list for us to keep in mind for the future.

    We have reviewed this requirement and we feel it would be a beneficial enhancement to the product. We hope to be able to add it to our development plans in the future.
