Enhance management of Session Timeout Interval for Navigator for i

Currently System Operators can not adjust their own Session Timeout Interval. The setting requires *ALLOBJ special authority. Another user with *ALLOBJ authority can't change the setting for the users without it. Instead, *ALLOBJ authority must be given to users temporarily in order for the setting to be changed.

I propose one of the following:

A. Give the QSECOFR class the ability to manage the setting for all users and don't display the option to other user classes in their settings.

B. Let all users customize the session timeout interval but let QSECOFR limit the maximum duration at a class level with the ability to override the limit for individual users.

This would benefit standard users by removing any ambiguity with regards to adjusting the Session Timeout Interval.

This will benefit elevated users because no one will need to contact them in order to get their rights temporarily elevated to adjust session settings.

Note: This is a duplicate of my other case, I was told this is a more appropriate Category for the idea, the other idea could be removed.

A user can be added in to the SERVICEABILITY function usage ID with *ALLOWED access, and will then be able to control their settings under Serviceability without having *ALLOBJ authority. QIBM_NAV_SERVICEABILITY is shipped with *DENIED as default. You can also change that to allowed for all users to have that ability if it fits the needs for your systems. This is the same as the QIBM_NAV_ALL_FUNCTION usage ID. See https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6485853 for more information on function usage IDs.
