This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

It is not possible in RDi (as of 5.6.0.3) to debug a program or service program that was compiled with a debug encryption key on DBGENCKEY. When this is attempted, it throws a CRRDG3031E error saying the listing could not be opened.
Once this error has occurred, I have experienced problems trying to continue to debug or use RDi, as you receive repeated Internal Errors and java.lang.NullPointerException error messages. This leads to having to restart RDi to correct the situation which causes delays. It's also difficult to avoid stepping into this problem if you're working with large/complex applications that have been compiled this way.
Enhance RDi so that it can debug programs/service programs that have DBGENCKEY specified.
When attempting to debug an encrypted program or service program, it should alert user that it's encrypted, and provide user a form to enter encryption key. If key is correct, debug should continue. If key is incorrect / not known / not entered, it should not cause any problems. User should still be able to continue with debug once call stack returns, and RDi shouldn't experience any NullPointer exceptions.
It would be a really nice feature if RDi was able to store known debug keys in it's encrypted store, and you could just select the correct key when encrypted source is encountered. Very handy if working with multiple clients/environments that leads to many different keys.
